Tim Burton

Tim Burton

Tim Burton is widely considered one of the most out there most brilliant directors of his generation and is my favourite director of all time. Burton has reimagined and recreated some of the most classic tales of all time and twisted them in his own image. Burton has one of the creative minds for films ever. The director has based film's off of his own life, has attempted to recreate classic series in his own image and has directed most of Johnny Depp's movies the two go together since Depp is known for playing quite outrageous out there wacky characters. Burton has even quoted "I always liked strange characters". However I will be talking about Burtons early career and what he is best known for stop motion animation.

Early career

In 1971 at the early age of 13 Burton shot his first animated movie with his friends named "The Island of Doctor of Agos". The young director then went on to study at the California constitute of  Art in 1979 while there he created a pencil drawn cartoon called "The Stalk of the Celarary Monster". The film did so well Disney offered him a job where he managed to work on such classics as "The Fox and the Hound" and "The Black Cauldron" After some time Burton released his first official  film a short stop motion cartoon "Vincent however the short did not do as well as the director had hoped. Never the less the director pushed on and made the classic Halloween movie "The Nightmare before Christmas" which was created using Claymation similar to the likes of Adman's "Wallace and Gromit" and "Chicken run". Burtons latest hit was a massive success and was nominated for an Oscar it managed to win a Saturn award a Annie award and a kids award it was also nominated for a Golden globe award

Tim Burtons career now

Since then the director hasn't done much stop motion animation but managed to create and reimagine the classic story Frankenstein ironically titled Frankenweenie using Claymation and the use of black and white in 2012. Burton has also done plenty with his career in 1992 he reimagined the first two Batman movies "Batman" in 1989 and "Batman returns" in 1992. Burton has also created a film based on how he was treated by society and modern America titled "Edward Scissor hands" which was made a year after "Batman Returns". Edward scissor hands also stared none other than Johnny Depp. Burton has done reimagining's of classic stories like "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory " and "Alice and Wonderland". Burton is currently in the process in reimaging the classic tale "The Wind in the Willows witch is scheduled to come out in 2014 using computer generated animation.
